Flow Object Notes

A flow object tree is created by applying construction rules to a grove.

Non-atomic flow objects have ports to which one or more sequences of flow objects may be attached. One port on each flow object is termed the principal port. Other ports have names. Each flow object belongs to one of the flow object classes.

Each flow object class defines a set of named ports along with the classes that may make up sequences attached to those ports. The ports of a class are not ordered (although the flow objects within a sequence are).

Applications may define their own flow object classes, but the ones defined by ISO/IEC 10179 are listed below. Those in bold are in DSSSL-Online:
