My desktop machines are named after ancient rulers of Israel in chronological order.
Joshua started off as a 25 MHz 486SX with 4MB RAM and a 110MB HDD then grew to a 100MHz 486DX4 with 8MB RAM and 320MB+110MB HDDs. Joshua always ran GNU/Linux (going back pre-1.0 kernel) but is not currently in use.
Caleb is a 166MHz Pentium with 32MB RAM. It started with a 1.2GB HDD then a 1.6GB HDD was added. Caleb ran Win95 and then Win98. Caleb is not currently in use.
Othniel is a 350MHz Pentium II with 128MB RAM. It started with a 8GB HDD and then a 20GB HDD was added. Othniel ran Win98SE initially then became a Linux box. I plan to make this my hardcode Linux hacking box.
Ehud is a 1GHz Pentium III with 512MB RAM. It started with a 60GB HDD and then an 80GB HDD was added. Initially Win2K then dual-boot Win2K/WinXP. It is now my main Linux machine running RedHat 9.
Shamgar is an Apple IIe I bought on eBay for $15.
Devorah is a recently-purchased 2.8GHz Pentium 4 with 1GB RAM and 2x120GB HDD. It is my main Windows machine.
My next desktop will likely be a Mac.
After that I probably won't buy another machine until 2005 or 2006 by which time it will probably be a 10GHz Pentium 7 with 4 GB RAM and 1TB of HDD running Longhorn :-)
